Here's the plan. The wedding is the main event, but the days around it are made for slowing down and enjoying yourselves. Please be aware there is a 3 night minimum stay for wedding guests, but you can extend your trip for as long as you would like. Friday, May 28 — Check In &amp; Welcome CocktailsDrinks, hugs, and a chance to meet everyone before the big day. Time and venue details to come. Saturday, May 29 — Wedding Ceremony + ReceptionThe main event. Ceremony, dinner, and dancing — all on property. We'll share the full timeline closer to the date. Step 2: Book Your FlightsFly into Cancun International Airport (CUN).Tip: Fuel surcharges are currently driving airfare up — keep an eye on fuel prices and try to book as soon as they trend down. Consider using fare trackers like Google Flights, Hopper, or airline apps which allows you set price alerts for specific routes and dates, so you catch drops without manually checking. You might also consider using credit card points for your airfare purchase. Step 3: Book Your Airport TransfersAll transfers to and from the resort are arranged through Amstar.Contact Jesus Samano at jesus.samano@amstar.com to set up your transportation. Tip: Have your flights finalized before reaching out to Amstar — they'll need your airline details to schedule your pickup. Don’t forget to mention you are with the Caval wedding to receive the discounted rate/Important: Do not plan to use any other means of transportation (Uber, Lyft, taxi, etc.). It is not safe to travel throughout Mexico using these types of services. Amstar is a trusted and reliable transfer and excursion company. Key Dates &amp; Information:By November 23, 2026: Must RSVP + Book Your Trip30% of your total reservation is due at the time of booking via credit cardValid passport must be used at time of booking (not expired or upcoming expiry within 6 months of the booking date).

Approximate Cost

The cost of your trip will be dependent on how many nights you choose to stay (3 min.), the room type, and the cost of flights at the time of booking. Right now, the cost per person is between $1800-$2200. Keep in mind this is an all inclusive which includes the cost of your flight, transportation to/from the airport/resort, food and beverage, and your hotel room.

Which Resort Should You Choose?

Our wedding is hosted across two resorts on the same property: Hotel Mousai and Garza Blanca. Here's the most important thing to know:Hotel Mousai is the adults-only, 5-diamond property. If you stay at Mousai, you get access to everything — Mousai, Garza Blanca, and Villa del Palmar restaurants, pools, and amenities. Garza Blanca is family-friendly. If you stay at Garza Blanca, you have access to Garza Blanca and Villa del Palmar, but not Hotel Mousai. So: if you want the run of the whole property, book Mousai. If you prefer a family-friendly vibe, Garza Blanca is the move.

Mexico is a special place to both of us. It was our first international vacation together, and we fell in love with it ever since. Every year, we plan a trip down and look forward to resting, relaxing, and experiencing the Mexican culture. This is our place, and we cannot wait to share it with each of you. With that said: we want this to feel like a vacation for you (and we just happen to be getting married in the middle of it). The Water In Mexico

You may have heard of Montezuma's revenge. News flash: it's probably real. People have horror stories about spending more time in the bathroom than outside of it. Good news — all of the resort's water, ice, and plumbing is filtered. The one thing to be cautious of is fresh fruit and vegetables — agricultural practices in Mexico differ from the US, so eating a lot of raw produce can occasionally upset your stomach. If you're not feeling great, packing some Imodium isn't the worst idea. When in doubt, ask Kamille – she will always carry medicine!

Leaving the Resort

Always use Amstar and always book through your concierge. Skip Ubers, street taxis, and rideshares. Behaving in Mexico: Remember — you're not in the US. Play by Mexico's rules, don't buy drugs, don't do anything you wouldn't do at home, and you'll have a perfect time. The inside of a Mexican jail is not on anyone's itinerary.

The Spanish Language

Try practicing and speaking in Spanish, even a simple “gracias” goes a long way. If you want to pick up more, the staff will happily teach you — they love it. Get immersed in the culture &amp; you will be sure to have a great time!

Tipping

While not required, but bringing cash in $1, $5, and $20 bills will absolutely level up your service. Virgel and I usually bring about $200 per person for a week. Our rule of thumb: $1 - $5 every other drink order, $5–$10 at lunch, $20 at dinner.

Currency & Conversion

Additional purchases, like bottles of alcohol, sunscreen, or other items on the resort are priced in pesos. If you're on an iPhone, the built-in Calculator app will convert for you. Don't be scared by big numbers — divide before you decide.

The Sun

I don't care if you're 100% Italian with beautiful olive skin — you're closer to the equator than you think, and you will feel it. Sunscreen + hydration are the move. Nothing ruins a vacation faster than a bad sunburn (or, worse, sun poisoning).
